Internal tools

An internal tool is the small piece of software your team needs but no vendor sells — a dashboard, an admin panel, a scheduler, a tracker. We build it around how your business actually works rather than making you bend to someone else's product.

$8,000 – $20,000 CAD2–4 weeks per sprint. Most tools take one or two sprints.
Who it's for

Teams running the business on a spreadsheet that has quietly become load-bearing, or paying for SaaS that only does half of what they need.

What we build

Typical projects

Operations dashboard

One screen pulling from the systems your data is scattered across, so nobody has to assemble the picture by hand.

Admin panel

A safe interface for staff to update records without touching the database or a shared spreadsheet.

Job and scheduling tracker

Work items, assignments and status in one place, with the notifications that stop things falling through.

Client portal

A logged-in area where customers see their own records, cutting the status-update emails your team answers all day.

Questions

Common questions

How long does it take to build an internal tool?

Two to four weeks for a focused tool with a clear scope, and one to two sprints for something larger. We deliberately ship a narrow first version you can use immediately, then extend it, rather than disappearing for three months.

Why not just buy software that does this?

Buy it if it exists — we will tell you when it does, and that advice is free. Custom is the right call when the off-the-shelf option covers half the job, charges per seat for people who barely use it, or forces a process change that costs more than the software saves.

Who owns the code?

You do, in full. It lives in your repository, deploys to your hosting, and comes with the credentials. There is no licence, no per-seat fee, and no dependency on us continuing to exist.

Can our team maintain it afterwards?

Yes. We build with mainstream, boring technology specifically so any competent developer can pick it up, and we hand over documentation and a recorded walkthrough. Many clients keep us on a small monthly retainer for changes, but that is a convenience, not a requirement.

Want a fixed price for this?

Thirty minutes on a call and you will have a written scope and a number.
